Master Bond Polymer System U846 is a high temperature resistant modified polyimide resin system with exceptionally high temperature resistance for erosion/corrosion resistant coatings and adhesives. This product is supplied as a clear, golden solution of a new polyimide precursor in a stable organic solvent. Upon evaporation of the solvent and subsequent curing a truly remarkable high performance modified thermoplastic polyimide is formed which exhibits not only excellent thermal stability up to 700°F but also outstanding erosion/corrosion resistance, superior adhesive properties, low frictional wear and outstanding electrical insulation characteristics. Typical applications include the most demanding erosion/corrosion resistant coatings and adhesives, thermal protection systems, fiber sizes, optical fiber coatings, tool coatings, dielectric barriers for high temperatures.
