Master Bond Polymer System UV15-7DC is a new one component, optically clear, non-yellowing UV and/or heat curable polymer system for high performance adhesives, sealants and coatings. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. When exposed to a source of UV light of adequate wave length and intensity it cures quickly to produce durable, tough, non-yellowing and chemically resistant adhesives, sealants & coatings with excellent electrical insulation properties. The UV cured polymeric material can be employed over the wide service temperature range of -60°F to +300°F. Master Bond UV15-7DC can also be heat cured at 250-260°F to give equivalent performance properties. Unlike many other commercially curable UV curing products, the Master Bond UV15-7DC system is not inhibited by air and exhibits a desirable fast UV curing rate at ambient temperatures even in section thicknesses of 1/8″ and more. Cure time depends on the type of UV lamp, distance of the lamp from the surface of the UV15-7DC, thickness of the section to be cured, etc. Typical cure times range from as little as 5 seconds to 2-3 minutes at ambient temperatures. 200 Watt/ inch medium pressure mercury vapor lamps or equivalent UV light sources are recommended. Maximum UV absorption takes place in the 280-360 nanometer range. No solvents or vapors are released during the curing process. Typical heat curing schedules are 10-30 minutes at 250-260°F. The storage stability of the UV15-7 Polymer System is 6 months under usual storage conditions in original unopened containers.
